TSC, KNEC Summon The Following School Principals Which Had KCSE 2023 results withheld For Questioning
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) summon school principals which had their KCSE 2023 results withheld for questioning.
The results of over 4000 candidates in the 2023 KCSE were withheld due to suspected examination malpractices.
According to TSC and KNEC, the principals of the schools which had their 2023 KCSE results withheld for probe are to appear before a committee formed by the two agencies to shed light on suspected examination irregularities that led to withholding of the results of 4,113 candidates countrywide.
This come even as some of the affected candidates have sought redress at the National Examination Appeals Tribunal.
Reliable sources at the Ministry of Education have indicated that the process started on Wednesday 10 January 2023 and is to be completed before the lapse of the 21 day period allowed for complaints.
Nandi County director of education Harrison Muriuki has revealed that the withheld results will be made public with a period of 20 days as education cabinet secretary Ezekiel Machogu directed during the release of the results at Moi Girls High school, Eldoret on Monday morning.
List of Schools with KCSE 2023 Results withheld :
1. Nyambaria High School
Nyambaria High school from Nyamira County which had the best mean score in the KCSE 2022 examination had 18 candidates whose results were withheld.
During the administration of the 2023 KCSE Exams last year, the school principal Mr Charles Onyari was suspended as the centre manager over suspected examination malpractices at the institution which had a candidature of 594.
2. Matinyani Boys Secondary school
The school is located in Kitui County. The school’s results were withheld due to suspected irregularities.
Kitui County Director of Education Khalif Hassan assured the public that Knec will release the results in due course after investigating the allegations of malpractices.
The school principal Mr Nelson Mureithi declined to communicate on the matters saying the government agencies were investigating the allegations.
In KCSE 2022, Matinyani Boys had all its 240 candidates who sat for KCSE test qualify to join university. The extra county school scored a mean grade of 9.94 to top the Ukambani region.
3. Samoei Boys High School in Nandi County.
Samoei Boys posted admirable results in the 2022 KCSE examination ranking second to Kapsabet Boys in Nandi county.
4. Santa Maria Girl’s Secondary School In Elgeyo Marakwet County.
5. Tarang’anya High School
In a letter to th school’s principal, KNEC said the results will be withheld within 30 days pending investigations.
The body said they had received information that there was examination irregularities at the school which promotes their move.
The school is based in Kuria West sub-county.
6. St Mary’s Girls Tachasis Secondary Schools in Nandi County.
KCSE 2023 results withheld
