Good News To Teachers Who Did Not Declare Their Wealth as TSC is Set To Allow Them a Day To Comply
Public Officer Ethics Act, 2003, which was Revised on 2009 states that Every public officer shall, once in every two years submit to the responsible commission a declaration of the income, assets and liabilities that belongs to self, spouse or spouses and dependent children below 18 years.
It is in reference to the act that TSC demands that every teacher must participate in wealth declaration. The commission is instructing its employees to strictly comply with the provisions on declaration of income, assets and liabilities.
New employees must also submit their initial declaration within 30 days after becoming a public officer, whose statement date should be the date he/she became a public officer, reads the circular.
The wealth declaration period was closed early May this year. However, the Commission is granting one day to teachers who did not comply. The newly employed teachers can take advantage and declare their wealth.
