The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) To Generate New Merit List For TSC July Mass Recruitment After the one published early was found fault, according to the report.
Teacher Service Commission announced vacancies for new Recruitment and others for replacement in primary, secondary and tertiary levels, that were to be filled this month, towards the end of last month.
The vacancies that were to be filled were fourteen thousand and eight hundred for recruitment and an additional one thousand plus vacancies for the replacement.
Applicants who met all the conditions and requirements were to apply for the vacancies through a link that was sent by the employer.
The deadline for applications was on Friday, 7 July. After the deadline, the county directors, sub county directors and regional directors were to generate a list of qualifiers ( merit list) for sub county, county and regionals.
The shortlisted candidates were to be informed or the merit list made public after which the candidates will be invited for an interview.
The merit list is used for purposes of transparency and to enable the applicants know where the fall in the job market.
However, it is unfortunate the merit list that had been generated and made public has been found fault according to the complaints that have been tabled by several applicants who missed in the shortlisted candidates or are shortlisted and their ranking has raised a lot of concerns.
Following, the complaints, and the TSC has communicated to the applicants to way for further consultation and communication after the early merit list has was withdrawn from the TSC official website. As it stands now the merit list is likely not to be adopted.
The most affected applicants were the intern teachers who were all awarded 5marks regardless of the duration they have served in the internship program. Those who have served as interns were to be awarded marks as follows: one year in internship 5mks, two years 10mks and three years 15mks.
It has been rumoured that corruption played a role in the generation of the merit list. Some applicants paid money for them to be shortlisted for the interviews. However, we are waiting for the correct information on what happened for such an error to realized.
It is yet to be confirmed whether the allegations are true or false. Most applicants who applied for the vacancies have not received confirmation on whether they have been invited for interview or not.
