The renowned Kenyan runner, who was residing and competing for Peru, suddenly fell ill and collapsed on his way home in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet county, on Monday, January 15, while in the company of his 4-year-old son.

According to Nation, the 32-year-old arrived in the country in November 2023 for training at Kapsowar in preparation for a race set to take place in April 2024.
His body was taken to the Iten County Referral Hospital Mortuary for examination.
