WhatsApp Users With This Type Of Phones Only To Decide The Duration Chats Can Last On Their Phones.
WhatsApp has rolled out automatic disappearing chats or messages within twenty-four hours. The user has the powers at hand to either store chats for a long duration or allows them to disappear within a day.
The rollout is meant to improve the privacy of the users. No one can trace the records of your private chats.
The company on Monday announced that the feature for disappearing messages has been enhanced on the app and that users have the option to turn the feature on to allow all the chats to disappear automatically.
The duration is decided by the user alone. You can set the chats to disappear within twenty-four hours, seven days or ninety days at most.
The change will save many Kenya’s from embarrassing situations having in mind that Kenya’s are the majority users of the app. In comparison to the world Whatsapp users, Kenyan users are 98%.
The innovation then means that when you open a new chat anytime, previous messages will be deleted automatically depending on the period you have set.
The beautiful part is that when one party activates the feature it will automatically delete the chats for all parties.
The point to note is that early messages that were either sent or received prior to the innovation of the feature and hence its activation will not be affected.
However, the chats can still be stored elsewhere if you need them for future reference as the new feature allows people to forward or screenshot the conversations for storage.
The new feature will first be rolled out on Android and iOS phones and gradually it can be extended to other models. To see the new Whatsapp feature on your phone the app must be updated.
