Which Way to Go Nairobi County Assembly? Confusion in The House
Confusion looms at the Nairobi County Assembly following the unveiling of the united democratic alliance majority leadership in the house.
In a letter written by the Secretary General of UDA party copied to the speaker, the party has named its majority leaders even as Azimio la Umoja coalition claimed it is the Majority party at the Assembly.
According to the letter, Antony Kirangu Waithaka MCA will be the Majority leader and Waithera Chege South B MCA will be his Deputy. On the other hand Mark Mugambi Umoja One MCA will be the Majority Whip whileJoyce Muthoni Nominated MCA will be his deputy.
Susan Makungu Mlango Kubwa ward representative has been nominated to seat at the Nairobi County Assembly Service Board.
The letter written yesterday Urged the members of the county assembly to accord them with the necessary support as they serve the county assembly.
Fredrick Njogu Kawangware MCA has also been nominated by the party to the Public Accounts Committee while his counterpart Jeremiah Themendu from Kayole Central will go to the Public Investment Committee.
Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition has also presented the names of its majority leadership. Makongeni MCA Peter Imwatok has been named the majority leader and his deputy will be John Musila Laini Saba MCA.
The majority whip Wil be Kilimani MCA Moses Ogeto and will be deputised by Upper Savannah MCA Elijah Stazo.
Azimio has sixty seven Members of County Assembly while their counterparts from Kenya Kwanza has fifty three.
Three of the MCAs are independent candidate and Embakasi Ward is yet to elect their member of county assembly.
