Why Over 4000 Teachers Are Set To Miss Their Retirement Benefits
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has found that over 4,000 teachers are not properly registered with the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) and are unlikely to get benefits until they enroll.
The teachers’ employer has requested that the impacted instructors attend the nearest NSSF office to register and forward their new numbers to their appropriate county directors officers across the country.
It informs the teachers that those documents will be forwarded to TSC headquarters for inclusion on the payroll.

The TSC is also requesting that teachers who have recently enrolled with NSSF and whose records have yet to be updated forward the cards, together with their NSSF statements, to the Commission so that their records are properly documented.
According to the Commission, contributions from teachers who have not met the registration requirements are held in suspense accounts at the NSSF.
In various memoranda sent by county directors to instruct teachers on this material and obtained by Education News, teachers are given until June 21, 2024 to comply with the directive.
“All teachers must thus attend the nearest NSSF office for registration purposes.
Upon registration, please provide your NSSF number to your respective TSC Sub County Director for transmission to TSC Headquarters,” according to a note from one of the directors to instructors.
