Why Singer Bahati Was Escorted out of Azimio Rally by Security Forcefully
Singer Kelvin Kioko (Bahati) has found the tough going on the political front after he was harassed at an Azimio rally in Nairobi yesterday.
The singer is vying for Mathare parliamentary seat against the wishes of top politicians in Nairobi County among them Edwin Sifuna senatorial aspirant and Rachel Shebesh Gender Chief Administrative Secretary.
Singer Kioko was among politicians allied to Raila Odinga who graced the event in Mathare constituency but not allowed to address the crowd.
He was instead led out of the event by security officers who said they were given orders from above to escort him out.
The incident comes barely after Bahati, who has resisted efforts to sacrifice his political ambitions in favour of incumbent Anthony Oluoch, was involved in a serious exchange with Edwin Sifuna on social media.
Bahati, Jubilee candidate, accused Sifuna of being compromised to favour Oluoch.
It is the second time in as many months the musician who’s been performing at Azimio events is being forced to step down from the race.
On the other occasion, he was forced to cry at a press briefing after his nomination certificate was withheld by his political party.
