2 Teachers, 11 Students Killed as Several Others Were Injured at School Shooting
At least 15 were killed, as many others wounded, at school shooting. Of the 15 people killed, 11 were children. According to the reports a gunman opened fire on Monday in a school in the city.
The gunman, armed with two weapons, also killed himself after the shooting. Among the dead were a school security officer and two teachers bringing the number of the people who died in the shooting to 15.
A total of twenty three people were injured during the incident among them twenty children. The head of the Republic confirmed.
According to the investigations carried out, the gunman has been identified as a local resident aged thirty four years and a former student at the school. The man named Artem was registered with a psycho neurological clinic.
The attack occurred at School No. 88 in Izhevsk, the capital of the Udmurt Republic, a region in central Russia west of the Ural mountains.
The shooting did not appear to be connected with a spate of violence.
According to local media the gunman, shot the school security guard before walking into the school and opening fire on children, many of them as young as 7 years.
Panic-stricken children fled the school during the attack. A seventh-grade boy at the school jumped from a third-floor window to escape the shooting and broke his leg.

May last year, 9 people were killed at a school in Kazan, Tatarstan, among them 7 children.
In 2018, a fourth-year student at Kerch Polytechnic College, killed 21 people and injured 67 in Russia’s worst school shooting.
