Female Employees Forced to Undress for Inspection
Managers of a Limuru based companycompany have been arrested after a drama in which female employees were forced to remove their clothes at work.
The arrest came after the employees filed a complain that they were forced to undress.
The senior managers for the company were arrested today. Police said the female staff were forced to remove their clothes by a manager who wanted to know who had disposed off a sanitary pad in the wrong bin.
Police said the 3 who were arrested were the plant’s Quality Assurance Manager, Human Resource Manager, and Human Resource assistant.
Police said they are being questioned and will be arraigned in court tomorrow to face various charges.
Witnesses said several female employees were forced to undress on Monday after a used sanitary towel was found in the wrong disposal bin.
Police said their probe showed this was not the first time a senior manager forced female workers to remove their clothes.
Senator Gloria Orwoba who first went public over the incident said she received a distress call about the incident on Monday night.
The Senator said she received a report about the incident that occurred at Brown Cheese Company in Limuru.
The female manager in charge of quality and standards allegedly paraded all the female employees and told them to remove their clothes so that she could check who was on her periods so that they could punish them for putting the pad in the wrong bin.
She added that despite her intervention, the matter had escalated.
Gloria said it is unfortunate that the matter at Brownscheese CompanyCompany in Limuru has escalated despite her intervention through her office.
The Senator noted that all institutions should purpose to implement the MHM Policy in Kenya for the good of all stakeholders.
