Immigration Department On Spot Over Mysterious Return Of A Deported Chinese.
Deported Chinese. The strange return of a Chinese national who had been deported to the country has put the Immigration Department under fire.
Questions have been raised over how Shao Guixiang, who had a valid deportation order against him, managed to re-enter the nation.
Guixiang was one of five Chinese nationals who were detained at a Mombasa Road construction site in January 2022 and found guilty of being there against their will. Just one month after being sent back to his own country in February 2022, it’s believed he returned.
According to reports, Guixiang arrived in Uganda before traveling into Kenya to obtain a three-month tourist visa. He also made an unsuccessful attempt to challenge the judgment of the court during this time.
Guixiang’s presence in the nation was made known after a video of Chinese businessmen arguing over a piece of property on Nairobi’s Kindaruma Road circulated on social media a week ago.
After the case moved to court, where it was once again revealed that the defendant was in the country illegally, police would later identify Guixiang as the one who instigated the altercation.
He is still operating a business in the nation, however it is unknown why his deportation was halted.
Prof. Kithure Kindiki, the Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS), is now requesting information from the Immigration Department regarding the circumstances behind the foreign national’s illegal entry into the country before his deportation is halted.
