4 people injured in a lightning strike
A house went up in flames leaving four people injured after lightning struck in Olesinye village in Oldonyi Ngiro, Narok County on Tuesday night.
The area assistant police commander Felix Kisalu said among the injured was a person living with a disability.
He said the victims were evacuated and rushed to the Olulunga Sub-County hospital.
A similar incident was witnessed last week at the neighbouring Triangle village where one person died.
The police boss has urged residents to be careful as the rainy season kicks off.
In a different story, the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) has announced the deregistration of Mr. David Nyawade Onyango as a medical practitioner.
This follows allegations that Mr. Nyawade had been falsely operating as a medical doctor without proper registration.
In a notice to the public, it is reported that Nyawade claimed to be a surgeon despite lacking an undergraduate medical degree. This is to inform the general public that David Nyawade Onyango has been deregistered by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council and is hereby prohibited from practising as a medical doctor in the Republic of Kenya.
The move comes amid a crackdown on individuals posing as health professionals in a bid to protect the public from unqualified practitioners.
This development coincides with the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Eric Theuri’s revelation of yet another imposter after increased reports of quacks posing as professionals.
