Kenya Records13 New Covid-19 Cases.
The Ministry of Health has today announced that 13 people have contracted COVID-19 from a sample size of 1,816 which was tested within the last 24 hours.
The new cases recorded has translated the Kenya’s positivity rate of 0.7 per cent.
Out of the 13 new cases, 9 are Kenyan citizens while 4 are foreigners.
The youngest patient is a five-year-old child and the oldest is 60 years old.
In the country the total confirmed positive cases since March 2020 are now 323,952 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 3,625,373.
In terms of county distribution, of the new cases, Nairobi County recorded 11 cases whereas Kiambu County, and Siaya had one case each.
In a statement, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, noted that six patients recovered from the disease are from the Home-Based and Isolation Care program.
So far the total recoveries has rose to 318,116.
The cumulative fatalities stands at 5,649 since no death was recorded in the last 24 hours.
Kagwe further said that six patients are currently admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 181 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.
“No patient is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), two patients are on supplemental oxygen in the general ward. No patient is in the High Dependency Unit (HDU),” Kagwe said.
