Not Again?! Prices Of Petrol, Diesel, Kerosene To Rise By Ksh.5.50
The prices of petrol, diesel and kerosene is going to increase rise by Ksh 5.50 following the latest review by EPRA.
The prices of the three fuel products has increased for yet another month in the latest maximum price review by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA).
The cost of all these three essential commodities is expected to rise by Ksh.5.50 per litre effective from Sunday midnight amidst the harsh economic times.
The price review will see the cost of fuel products in the country to a new record high which will further make the prices of other commodities to hike further.
According to the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) the increase in the fuel prices has been attributed to an increase in the average landed cost of the fuel products with kerosene marking the highest price jump at 31.13 per cent.
After the increase, Super Petrol is expected to cost Ksh.150.12 in the capital city Nairobi while the cost of diesel and kerosene will rise to Ksh.131 and Ksh.118.94 per litre respectively.
However, the fuel prices were to higher than the current prices if it were not for the continued subsidies from the government.
For instance, without the subsidy, petrol would cost Ksh.176.47 while diesel would cost Ksh.174.94 and Ksh.169.26 respectively.
