The Public Service Commission (PSC) has invited applications for the post of Chief Secretary on September 20.
Article 155(3)(a) of the Constitution mandates the PSC to advise the President on the appointment and appointment of the Secretary General.
Council chairman Anthony Muchiri said in a statement on Tuesday that serving secretary generals should also apply. Women, minorities, the marginalized and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
Applicants are expected to obtain clearance from the Kenya Revenue Authority , the Higher Education Loans Board and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.
You must also be cleared with the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) (Certificate of Conduct) and have permission from the Credit Reference Bureau.
Interested candidates must have a degree from a recognized Kenyan university and have at least ten years of relevant professional experience, with five years in public or private service at managerial or senior management level.
It must also comply with the requirements of Article Six of the Constitution for leadership and integrity.
The PSC states that they should have general knowledge of the organization and functions of government.
The Board states that all applications must be accompanied by copies of relevant academic and professional certificates and transcripts, National Identity Cards or passports, certificates and relevant documents. Photocopies of these documents must be attached to the online application,” he said.
In addition, Muchiri said all applications should be marked “Applying for the post of Secretary General”.
Applicants are advised to submit their applications to the Secretary/General Manager, 4th Floor, Commission House, or to the Commission’s address.
Online applications should be sent by email in PDF format to: principalsecretary2022@publicservice.go.ke.
Muchiri disclosed that the names of the applicants shortlisted will be published in the media after the advertisement closes.
