An Italian forty six years old, suffering with psychological problems, stabbed five people in a shopping center killing one person on the spot and injuring other four people. Among those injured was Mari Pablo on-loan Arsenal footballer. The incident occurred at a shopping centre near Milan.
According to reports from club Monza, Pablo Mari On-loan Arsenal footballer was taken to hospital where he underwent a successful surgery after he was stabbed during the deadly knife attack in an Italian supermarket.
Monza confirmed that the 29-year-old Pablo Mari, Spanish defender, is fine and that everything is okay.
Pablo Mari was in the shopping center, supermarket, with his wife and son shopping when he was attacked. He was stabbed from the back. He was taken to Milan’s Niguarda hospital where he underwent a procedure. The player would remain in hospital for the next two to three days.
The attacker is said to have grabbed a knife from the shelf in the supermarket. Among the five people who were attacked was an employee of the supermarket who unfortunately succumbed.
Reportedly, the man was arrested by police after being disarmed by former Napoli and Inter Milan defender Massimo Taranto.
Adriano Galliani chief executive for Monza club said Mari would not return to training for at least two months.
