An aircraft which was flying over Nairobi encountered an incident at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport this afternoon raising concerns from the public.
According to the airport authorities in Nairobi, described that the aircraft encountered an incident at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and the authorities said that the rescue operations are currently underway.
The Kenya Airports Authority, through their official social media handles, said emergency teams are on the ground to evacuate those aboard the aircraft.
At 12:06 the Kenya Airport Authorities through a tweet wrote that, An aircraft overflying Nairobi encountered an incident at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport this morning. Immediate rescue operations are underway, led by our dedicated emergency response teams. We are working closely with authorities as we prioritize the safety of all involved.
About an hour earlier, some social media users had raised questions on the situation at JKIA, pointing at a smoke of cloud billowing above the airport.
