School Principal Chased By Parents, Students go Home
Furious parents of students at Isyukoni Secondary School in Machakos County’s Masinga Sub-County stormed the building on Monday and told the students to leave the premises.
The parents then proceeded to eject the school’s principal and barricade his office after arming themselves with signs and twigs.They demanded the dissolution of the Board of Management in protest at the school’s administration.
Some of the parents who spoke to the media demanded the removal of the school’s head, stating he was responsible for the school’s declining performance.
Additionally, they charged him of misusing school funds, and they complained to the Sub County Director of Education (SCDE).
A father remarked, “The students’ performance has plummeted so significantly. A few years ago, before he arrived, we had students attending universities.He gives the order to send pupils home so he may steal and waste money.
We have no issues with anyone else, but he needs to be transferred as quickly as possible because we want to return in two years and see grade As posted on the notice board.
They threatened to not bring their kids back unless Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ezekiel Machogu took action.
