A Bull is in Police Custody For Killing Grandma
A bull in kakamega county has been detained at a police station in Lurambi constituency, for charging at and killing an elderly woman.
According to witnesses, the elderly woman was taking a strall with her grandson when the bull who was tied besides the road charged at them.
The bull is said to have began charging at the two after it lost its cool. The grandson saw the bull grazing by the roadside and was frightened. He began to run and that is when the bull lost its cool and charged at them. The bull due to its strength cut the rope lose and went after them.
The bull came straight towards the grandma and ploughed right through her.
Mulinya Benard area Chief confirmed the incident saying the victim was rushed to mukumu hospital to get treatment by neighbours who heard the commotion and run to the scene to help.
The grandma sustained serious injuries among them five broken ribs, deep wounds in her head and some on the abdomen. She got to the hospital but succumbed at night.
Angry residents stormed the home of bull owner demanding for the bull to be killed as per the traditions.
However, they did not manage to kill the bull as the police arrived and took the bull and its owner for detention at the Sisasari police station as investigations continues.
