A student in one of the schools is recuperating in hospital after he was struck by lightning in Nambale, Busia County.
At the time of incident, the student was inside the classroom. The school where the incident occurred is Katira Secondary School in Nambale Constituency Bungoma County.
According to the witness, the student was in class attending lessons before lightning struck. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported from the incident.
Luckily, the accident was not fatal. The student was rushed to Kocholia Sub County Hospital in Teso North Constituency where he is receiving treatment.
The Health workers attending to the student said that the boy is in stable condition. He is not in a critical condition. Lightning strikes can be fatal.
In April this year, two people were struck to death in a different village within the same county, Bungoma County, following a heavy rainfall.
