A man has sued his neighbor for allegedly spying on his family by installing CCTV in his neighboring house.
Kennedy Ondieki, a resident of Kilimani, Nairobi, has sued Helen, and wants her to pay damages for invading his privacy.
“My family and I do not feel safe and secure knowing that my immediate neighbor has information and pictures related to my personal and family matters,” Ondieki said.
They argue that their family has been unable to enjoy the privacy and comfort of their own home because they always know they are being watched and supervised.
Ondieki wants the court to issue and order indemnification for Hellen for violations of her fundamental rights and freedoms, including damages for acts of negligence.
He also seeks an order to compel her to uninstall the CCTV camera or ‘spying device’ that is accessing, spying, monitoring and recording images in his property.
“Order to restrain his neighbor from installing any type of CCTV cameras for spying, surveillance and recording images of his property,” he said.
