Court Freezes Bank Accounts of a Government Official
The anti corruption court ordered that the bank account belonging to one of the junior government officials working in the ministry of environment be frozen for six months after it was discovered that a transaction of seventy five million shillings was made to his account.

An anti-corruption court has ordered that the bank account of a junior environment ministry official be frozen after depositing seventy million shillings.
According to court documents seen on Tuesday, Samuel Kariuki was earning a net salary of Sh32,000 to Sh42,000 but had more than seventy five (75) million shillings in his account.
The EACC filed a case against Kariuki.
In the affidavits, the matter was immediately substantiated and an order was passed that the defendant or his agents should not withdraw the money.
The court ordered this to enable the applicant to complete his investigation before initiating recovery proceedings by transferring, settling or dealing in any other manner with money in the bank account described herein.
