Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority has Announced latest fuel prices after the recent review.
In the statement released on Monday, the Authority said the reduction is for Super Petrol, diesel and Kerosene.
A litre of petrol will now retail at KES 177.30, diesel KES 162 and kerosene at KES 145.94 from Tuesday, November 15 to December 14.
This is the second month in a row fuel costs have reduced by KES 1.
“The price of Diesel has been cross-subsidised with that of Super Petrol while a subsidy of KES 17.68/litte has been maintained for Kerosene in order to cushion consumers from the otherwise high prices,” director general Daniel Kiptoo said in a statement.
Last week EPRA lowered the monthly unit cost of electricity generated from thermal sources by five per cent for November due to lower fuel prices, handing some relief to consumers.
The regulator has cut the fuel cost charge to Sh6.36 per kWh down from Sh7.09 per unit. The Fuel Cost Charge is the single-biggest variable cost in consumer billing that is adjusted monthly and is collected by Kenya Power on behalf of the expensive thermal power generators.
