100 students from Eregi girls high school hospitalized over unknown illness
The outbreak of mysterious illness at St. Theresa Eregi Girls High in Kakamega has attracted tension among teachers, parents and the rest of the Kenyans.
As at yesterday Monday 3, October about 100 Eregi students were hospitalized due to illness of unknown cause.
More than 50 students of St. Theresa Eregi of Kakamega was hospitalized with an undisclosed illness on Monday, leaving students and medical professionals confused.
Some students who spoke to NTV said they were unable to stand and walk due to weak joints, although they did not feel any discomfort.
This situation has caused a lot of tension in the school community and parents are in great fear due to unknown illness whose cause has not been established yet.
Currently, some students are undergoing medical examination and treatment at Kakamega Referral Hospital.
So far hospital officials have not provided any information concerning the illness and its cause.
They have declined to provide details or comment on these cases, explaining that further testing and investigation are needed to determine the root cause of the illness.
While medical experts are working diligently to determine the nature of the disease and develop an appropriate treatment plan, the school and local health authorities are closely monitoring the situation to ensure Safety and health of affected students.
