A family in tharaka nithi County, tharaka constituency, have been throw into sombre mood after their son who was in form twoform two died after he was allegedly beaten to death by close relatives in Tunyai village.
The seventeen year old boy who was a student at Chuka High SchoolChuka High School, Edwin Murithi, succumbed to his injuries after the fatal ordeal in the hands of his uncle and cousin.
The boy who was living with his grandmother after being abandoned by his biological mother while he was just a very small baby was a very bright boy with a brilliant future as he even secured a scholarship as a beneficiary of Equity Bank’s Wings to FlyWings to Fly sponsorship.

The grandmother to the deceased who has been identified as Kaguna Wanjeru while speaking to the media said the boy informed her that her relatives beat him while accusing him of stealing a school bag.
The distraught grandmother said that while she was passing near the house of the deceased she heard him calling out for help. As she walked in she found out that the boy had been tied with ropes on both his hands and legs. The boy pleaded with her to lift him up from where he was lying down. The deceased had severe injuries all over his body.
But it later turned out that the mother of one of the assailants had carried the bag with her to the market.
The incident has already been reported to the police, and the suspects arrested.
Wanjeru is now asking the governmentgovernment to ensure that justice for the deceased is served.
