KMTC Entry Requirements, Short Courses and Fees Structure.
To join any KMTC to pursue a Certificate course in any medical field the minimum grade you must attain is a C- with specific qualifications in given subjects in KCSE.
To pursue any Diploma programme the minimum grade required is a C (plain) with specific qualifications in main subjects.
For Upgrading courses, a candidate is required to have a certificate in the respective field of study.
Higher Diploma programmes, a diploma certificate is mandatory. A candidate must have done a diploma (KMTC entry requirements).
1. Certificate
C-(minus) as a minimum qualification.
All certificate courses take a duration of 2years except for the Certificate in Nursing which requires 2 ½ years.
2. Diploma
The mean grade of C(plain) in KCSE is the minimum qualification required.
Diploma courses in KMTC take three years except for Nursing and Community Health which takes a long time of three and a half years.
3. Upgrading
A candidate must have a certificate in the relevant field of study with at least working experience of two years.
The duration taken to upgrade any certificate course is two years except for Nursing and Community Health which requires two and a half years.
4. Higher Diploma
The basic requirement is that you must have a diploma in your field of study.
Also, working experience of at least two years is required.
Higher diploma course training takes one year.
5. Short Courses
A written request must be made upon which necessary arrangements will be done.
Duration for short courses ranges between two weeks and three months.

✓ Community Health and Development 6 months full time at 32,500/=
✓ First aid and basic life support 2 weeks part-time at 10,500/=
✓ Medical engineering 3 months part-time at 25,500/=
✓ Food hygiene and inspection 6 weeks at 15,500/=
✓ Counselling skills for healthcare professionals for 6 months part-time at 60,500/=
✓ Nutrition in critical care for 2 weeks at 25,500/=
