Magoha Announced New Dates for Schools To Close To Pave Way For Polls
The Education Cabinet Secretary while speaking at the Alliance Girls high school today after inspecting the ongoing construction of CBC classrooms at the instituition said the schools will be re-opened as soon as the poll results are announced .
He further indicated that Schools will be closed on August 6 to prepare for the upcoming General Election on August 9.
The CS said, We are breaking again on the 6th of the month and we will not open again untill the 15th.
CS Magoha at the same time stated that if there will be repeat elections during, a consultative meeting will be held to determine whether candidates shall sit for their exams this year or shall be pushed till next year.
“Stakeholders in the ministry of education may have to sit down and deliberate on whether it will be fair to examine the children if they will have lost a considerable amount of time, it is my prayer that that does not happen, as the students have suffered enough,” said CS Magoha.
The Education CS has also given a directive that all projects that politicians claim to be launching in school grounds be banned because they use these events in order to woo voters.
Magoha added that candidates have short term to prepare for their exams hence should be left alone. Politics should not be entertained in any school.
