Meet A School In Nandi Where Pupils And Teachers Share Toilets In A Delapidated Conditions.
The lives of more than 150 pupils and several teachers in a school in Rift Valley Region risk after ihas been revealed that teachers and pupils share filthy toilets.
The filthy toilets, dilapidated classrooms and lack of clean water posing the major risks to the lives of the learners and teachers in the institution.
Nyinyira Primary School in Nandi south pupils and teachers are in great danger, as they take their studies in dilapidated structures following years of neglect.
Nyinyira Primary School is located in on the edges of the Nandi escapements in Banjoke, according to the report shared by the reliable source. The school was established in 2014, and up to date it has a mudwalled classrooms in wanting conditions.
Nelson Koech,the chairperson of the school Board of Management reported that the school was initiated because of shortage of primary schools along the broader of Nandi and Vihiga counties.
According to him, the residents started the construction of the school and registered it in 2014.
The report shared by BOM chair Nelson Koech indicates that all the classrooms from pre-primary to class eight are dilapidated, exposing the pupils to dust and rusty broken roofs.
He revealed that the dry seasons becomes a blessing in disguise, since the learners can study without disruptions.
“The classrooms are congested and some learners don’t have seats and chairs. Moreover some classes are conducted under trees”, 2022 Koech narrated.
Another worrying part according to the statement which was released, but teachers teachers share toilets with pupils since the one that was used by learners collapsed.
The school administration also reported that he school has not benefited from National Government Constituency Development Fund and even capitation money from the government, something that has shocked many people across the country.
