MP Donates Over 250 Motorbikes To Youth.
The Kesses Member of Parliament Dr Mishra donates 250 motorbikes in a move to empower youths and reduce cases of insecurity and create jobs for the youth in the constituency.
Dr Mishra said that he has spent Sh 30 million on the motorcycles. This donation is part of the empowerment program he started in 2017.
Dr Mishra, in his first term as the Kesses Member of Parliament, has also established an award scheme where 2,000 youth will own motorcycles for the boda boda business.
He said that his plan to meet his target of providing 2000 motorbikes to Kesses jobless youths is still on and he is projecting to accomplish it by the end of November this year.
While speaking in Tarakwa where he handed over the motorcycles to beneficiaries, Mishra said the project aims to empower youths and help them to venture into the transport business to earn a living.
On the same empowerment program, he said that 2,500 groups will receive beehives, incubators, salon equipment, cyber cave equipment, event organising equipment, public address systems and agricultural inputs to his constituency.
“The total empowerment beneficiaries will translate to 3000 individuals,” Dr Mishra said.
He further revealed that over 600 elderly people are going to be enrolled in the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) by the first week of December.
“I will secure money for the empowerment programs from personal resources and the government”. He added.
The member of parliament also said that he will empower youths in the academic sector where he promised to sponsor several students to join polytechnics. In December the sponsorship program will see 200 youths enrolling in driving schools.
He added that seven hundred cows will also be given out to residents in the ongoing program.
He encouraged the youths to impress teamwork and be careful on the roads to avoid accidents.
