MP Sabina Chege Explains Why She Got Married Before Joining University
MP Sabina Chege, a nominated member of parliament, has talked openly about her life before entering politics.
The last child of nine said she moved to Nairobi after passing her Form 4 during an interview with TV 47’s Wabebe Experience.
“One day, I was quite fascinated and saw the Tausi show on KBC. I was in the drama club in high school. I walked to KBC one day and told them I wanted to see “Tausi” folks. I mentioned that I was interested in performing in school,” she remarked.
“I was chosen to take the position of the character Rehema. I therefore took action before enrolling in school.
When recounting her trip, Sabina also mentioned that she had driven a matatu while expecting and had even gotten married before enrolling in college.
“I used to operate a matatu or a squad Dagoretti when pregnant. (I used to travel about Dagoretti in a couple matatus),” the lawmaker claimed.
The politician admitted that her first lover and romance was the reason she got married before attending university.
I married before I started college, by the way. I gave birth the Sunday before that Monday when I was meant to start university, Sabina remarked.
She claimed that she had not seen the man in a very long time.
I acted really bravely. I believe that the reason I felt the urge to get married was because “I was too Christian.” I believed that being married was a requirement for being in a relationship, but I chose not to because I was pregnant.
