President Ruto Announces New Formula To Pay Milk Farmers
President William has announced a new formula to pay milk farmers.
According to president Ruto milk farmers are set to benefit from a new payment formula where they will receive payment after every 15 days.
Speaking on Monday 8th April 2024 during a tour to the Eldoret National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) stores, the President remarked that this was one of the ways to empower farmers.
He said that starting July 2024, farmers would start receiving payments every 30 days and the Kenya Kwanza Government is preparing for the bimonthly payments.

“I have directed that starting this July, payments will be made promptly every end month just like salaries,” the President promised.
“In future, I am making preparations so that farmers will be paid every 15 days so as to be able to buy animal feeds.”
He added that it is wrong to see cooperatives delay paying farmers for offer two months.
He explained the push to make bimonthly payments was driven by the vision to position agriculture as one of the key economic drivers and further enhance the nation’s food security.
He further directed that starting end of April, the government would be paying Ksh50 for every litre of milk as one of the reforms to the milk industry.
On the other hand President Ruto revealed that his administration has plans to lower the price of subsidised fertiliser further so as to increase production of food and agricultural products.

He promised to sort out the fertiliser issue by next year.
He further revealed that he had received reports that Kenyans had complaints about seeds bought from Kenya Seeds Company. He promised that the new management to the State Corporation will institute reforms to ensure Kenyans got quality seeds.
