There is a lot of concern about why the students fail examinations after thorough reading and revision.
Failure in examination raises numerous questions and makes your parents, friends and relatives conclude that may you didn’t study and work hard in readiness for the examination.
This might not be the case. Research indicates that there are minimal cases when a student studies for an examination and in the end perform poorly in such examinations due to the failure to consider some factors in course of preparation.
Here are the reasons why a student fails even after work hard in preparing for any examination:
1. Learners Read Only For the Examination.
The sole purpose of education is not to pass exams but acquire knowledge and skills to assist at the point of need. A student reading to acquire knowledge gets a better understanding of the concepts compared to the one reading to pass exams.
2. Failure to Prepare A Study Plan.
Many students underrate the importance of having a study plan. A study plan is a crucial step towards effective reading. Reading without a study plan makes students fail to meet the examination requirements and in the end, fail.
3. Failure to meet the expected requirements.
Testing demand a range of required knowledge from a candidate.
Some students read just because they have to without the knowledge of what the examination body expects.
As a result, do not prepare well as expected. Students are advised to go through the whole syllabus and use recommended textbooks.
4. Ineffective Reading.
Passing examinations requires one to read effectively. Students can work hard but if they fail to prepare effectively they will achieve little in the exams.
5. Lack of Confidence.
A student who has read effectively may end up failing as a result of inadequate confidence. However, adequate preparation built up the conference of the candidates.
6. Neglecting the Power in Prayer.
With our energy we accomplish little but we accomplish much more once we realize the power of prayer.
Candidates should not neglect prayer while reading for an examination. Through prayer, we realize our success.
