SEKU Students Dying Of Hunger And Starvation.
The South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU) students are allegedly dying of hunger and starvation.
Following the report of the death of a year student, the latest report has revealed that students are depending on unripe fruits for their survival due to a lack of food in the area.
The report is worrying to the parents given that one student has already been reported dead due to hunger and starvation. It has been allegedly reported that students are only surviving one meal a day.
It has also been revealed that the SEKU University management allegedly called upon the parents to assist their children with financial support through comments.
The death of one of the fourth students in South Eastern Kenya University due to hunger starvation sparked mixed reactions online while the netizens highlighted the pathetic state of university students whose facilities are located in arid and semi-arid areas where South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU) is one of them.
According to the new revelations, SEKU fourth-year student who was found dead in his house, died after going without food for seven days. Section of the SEKU’s comment on the allegations was a request to parents assist their children with financial support.
On the other hand, students in the university opened up on the situation they have been going the University. Some claimed that they gave been only surviving on one meal per day and unripe fruits due to lack of money to sustain themselves.
University students suffer a lot in the course of their professional studies more so when they do not receive sufficient financial support from parents to cater for all the expenses incurred while on campus.
This is a very sad state and the government is called upon to intervene and should come up with laid down strategies to help students from these hard areas through the organization of a relief kitty.
