SRC Revised Per Diem Allowances For Civil Servants & Teachers.
The Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) defines per diem allowance rates as daily allowances paid to employees to reimburse expenses incurred when traveling for assigned job.
Usually, the aforementioned token is given to pay for food, lodging, and other expenses over a predetermined length of time.
It is important to keep in mind that SRC bases its rates for various workers on a number of factors, including the individual’s employment categorization.
Conversely, the allowance amounts granted to civil authorities are set and cannot be altered unless SRC makes changes to them.
The allowances paid based on clusters are listed below.

Current per diem pricing for cluster 1.
Civil servants who travel to Kenyan cities for work-related purposes are entitled to different allowances from SRC.
The following allowances are given to different workers who travel to different cities, including Kisumu, Nairobi, Mombasa, and Nakuru;
- Under Job groups A to E sh. 4,200
- Under Job groups F to J- sh. 6,300
- Under Job groups K to N also know as State Officer Grade D4 –sh. 11,200
- Under Job groups P to R also State Officer Grades E2, E1, and D5 – sh. 14,000
- Under Job groups S to T also State Officer under Grades E3 and E4 –sh. 16,800
- Under Job groups U to V also State Officer under Grades F1, the F2, and E5- sh. 18,200
- Under State Officer Grade F4 sh. 22,000

Present Rates of Cluster 2 Per Diem
The following are the per diem benefits available to government employees invited to county headquarters in places like Malindi and Naivasha for work-related reasons.
- To Job groups A to E –sh. 3,500
- To Job groups F to J- sh. 4,900
- To Job groups K to N or the State Officer under Grade D4 –sh. 8,400
- To Job groups P to R ( State Officer under Grades E2, the E1, and D5) – sh. 10,500
- To Job groups S to T ( State Officer under Grades E3 and E4) sh. 12,600
- To Job groups U to V ( the State Officer under Grades F1, the F2, and E5 )sh. 14,600
- To State Officer Grade F4 –sh. 18,000
- To Job groups A to E –sh. 3,500
- To Job groups F to J- sh. 4,900
- To Job groups K to N or the State Officer under Grade D4 –sh. 8,400
- To Job groups P to R ( State Officer under Grades E2, the E1, and D5) – sh. 10,500
- To Job groups S to T ( State Officer under Grades E3 and E4) sh. 12,600

These are SRC per diem allowances payable to civil servants upon visiting all other towns except those listed in Cluster 1 and 2 rates above.
The payable allowance rates paid to them as as follows

- To Job groups F to J-Ksh. 4,200
- To Job groups K to N or State Officer under Grade D4-Ksh. 7,000
- To Job groups P to R ( State Officer under Grades E2, E1 plus D5) –sh. 8,400
- To Job groups S to T (State Officer under Grades E3 also E4) sh. 10,500
- To Job groups U to V (State Officer under Grades F1, F2 and E5 )sh. 12,500
