The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has set three tough conditions for teachers seeking transfer and swop from their current stations.
TSC has received several transfer requests especially for the teachers who were affected by delocalization and would want to go back to their home counties.
Following the transfer requests, the commission has set conditions that must be met for a transfer request to be considered.
TSC responded after questions were raised by a section of delocalized teachers on eligibility for transfer or swop from their current stations.
The commission’s response has come when the Kenya Kwanza government is planning a meeting with TSC over the delocalization menace.
DP Rigathi Gachagua said last week that a meeting will be held with the Commission to discuss how the teachers who are Delocalize are going to be transferred back to their home counties.
However, TSC has said the transfer policy guidelines still stand ahead of the scheduled meeting.
In an email dated 16th October 2022, TSC TSC said that one must have completed at least five years to be considered for a transfer.
The Commission also added that a teacher must have a perfect replacement for Swops and both should apply to indicate their desire to move the new stations.
Part of the TSC email read…… Kindly note that for a swop transfer the teachers must have same subject combination, must have finished the five year mandatory rule and both must have applied indicating the desire to swop.
The TSC policy states that teachers working in North Eastern region are required to have completed at least three years before they are transferred back to their home counties.
Teachers in other regions should work for at least five years before they are considered for transfer to their homes.
However delocalized teachers should expect good news after the meeting between TSC and officials from Ruto’s government come to a conclusion.
