TSC, MoE on the spot for Harassing Teachers During Inspection
Inspectors from the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and the Ministry of Education (MoE) began their inspections of the West Pokot County schools earlier than teachers had anticipated.
The County Curriculum Officer Neilson Musani told a group of teachers during the strenuous exercise that the Commission opted to start the exercise early to avoid teachers’ cosmetic preparation.
It is our responsibility, he stated, to make sure that instructors’ readiness is evaluated. However, he commended the teachers for exceeding the ideal level and urged them to uphold and raise the bar.
The quickly-starting initiative was launched nationwide and is overseen by Regional Directors, Quality Assurance Officers, County and Sub-County Directors, as well as County and Sub-County Directors.
Along with evaluating content delivery and instructional techniques, the team also serves as a consultant and informs teachers of the most recent advancements in the field of education.
Checking the availability and timeliness of the following documents, such as lesson plans, summaries of teachers’ weekly absences, fully completed and signed appraisal contracting forms, and lesson attendance registers, are additional forms of assessment.
Ascertaining the availability of individual learner records, marking and summarising student attendance logs, reviewing student books, and preparing pertinent teaching materials are other crucial tasks.
The activity aims to identify and address difficulties teachers at all educational institutions encounter when performing Teacher Performance and Appraisal Development (TPAD).
