TSC’s results of promotional interviews
Primary school educators who participated in promotional interviews in December of last year are roiled with anxiety, with the majority questioning why it was taking the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) so long to make the results public.
The Commission’s source verified that the selected candidates’ list had not yet been made public by the headquarters.
They informed Education News that processing the findings could take longer than expected because they need to take into account more than just the candidates’ interview scores.
A few of the variables taken into account are the discipline history, the validation of the Teacher Performance Appraisal and Development (TPAD) ratings, appraisals, and the justification of the extended time frame given the need to carefully review over 36,000 files.
According to the source, the interview results could be made public by April of this year, allowing the stations to assign the selected applicants to their appropriate positions.
To fill the 36,053 positions that were advertised in August of last year, the teachers’ employer organized promotional interviews in three stages. The first stage took place from December 4 to 15, 2023, at the sub-county level and targeted promotional Grades C1 through C5 in elementary schools.
Deputy Headteacher II in conventional primary schools T-scale 9 with 1,930 openings, and Headteacher in Special Needs Primary School T-Scale 10 with 1,049 places and 30 posts up for grabs, respectively, were among the positions.
Additionally, the TSC aimed to fill 10,819 and 700 jobs for Senior Teacher II in both normal and SNE Primary schools at T-scale 7, and 3,040 and 346 positions for Senior Teacher I in conventional primary schools and SNE Primary schools at T-scale 8, respectively.
