Two students disappear from school after being punished
Two families in Kwale county have been in agony for the last few days after their daughters disappeared from school.
Rose Mapenzi and Virginia Wambui disappeared on Friday last week under unclear circumstances. The duo is said to have escaped from school by jumping over the fence on Thursday night.
The two are said to have escaped from Dori Girls Secondary School after they were punished for being in possession of love letters.
Ann Wangeci, mother to Wambui, said the school principal called her and told her to school on Friday last week because the whereabouts of her daughter were unknown.
On arrival at school, the headmistress told Wangeci that after the Friday assembly, they discovered Wambui was missing. They reported the matter to the police and since then, the Form Two girl has not been traced.
On the other hand, Mapenzi’s mother Judith Lihema said her daughter was hurt after she was suspended from school together with her friend Wambui. Mapenzi told her mother that she did not want to return back to that school.
However, her mother asked her to stay for this term as they look for another school. The agonized parents have been solely searching for their daughters to no avail.
